while i have learned much over the month minting these notes to self, i am also, admittedly, almost glad it's done.
they have strayed from the typical screenshot essay format others have experimented with this month for a reason. little snippets of thought for the day ahead and a peek into where my mind is at the time rather than a formalized, coherent decree on any one subject.
there's much to be done with this style of minted writing on Zora and many more experiments to look forward to with great excitement.
whatever comes next for my writing, the hope is for it to be an open conversation, a call to the creative power within, if you will.
over the holidays i've been watching sci-fi show retrospectives.
one of the various traditions i have with myself. for the past couple of years though, i neglected the yearly rewatch of the justice league animated series since being too busy.
first a retrospective on Farscape and then one on the entire TNG series.
just a little update for today, nothing too profound.
i do wish for a trek mirrorverse series in the future 🤔
would also be interested in a deeper look at the religions of each space-faring universe and how we can glean insights into various communities of these creative looks of the future.
2023 was the first year I felt like we were actually headed toward the future on multiple fronts at once. An inflection point peaking out and then slowly taking off. Not that this is always a net positive, but humanity is breaking through technical marvels most people my age could have only dreamt of.
I'm very excited to see what the next year has in store. But before we head deeper into the unknown, we must take a collective inventory in order to breathe life into what comes next.
Preparing ourselves for these new and accelerated advancements will require patience, self-reflection, and a thoughtful look at how humans will be at the forefront of a newfound marrying of the dynamic digital and analog.
We'll need to confront the past four years and heal ourselves, something we've unfortunately largely neglected. It will feel like a terror ripping each person in two, and it will all be worth the pain on the other side as we move toward greater collective growth rather than individual fear.
I used to think I was broken for not enjoying holidays the way most other people do, and to an extent, I still do. As I grow older, though, I find that maybe it just doesn't matter as much as we're told it should. I mean, sure, I enjoy receiving /thoughtful/ gifts, but I personally prefer the randomness of them outside of major capitalistic holidays imposed on a global scale.
My favorite kind of gift is a handwritten letter in the mail, maybe some doodles and stickers sent along as well. Thankfully, the internet has allowed me to connect with folks kind enough to humor me in this particular indulgence. Outside of these pen pals, I imagine many reading this can relate to the difficulty of making friends and subsequently finding the money, time, and effort to buy gifts inside the absurdity of holiday seasons. Nevertheless, spending holidays alone still sucks, so my usual drowning in sci-fi and old holiday movies fills the void for now.
the allure of staying active and attentive is an unforgiving social pressure of our time.
everywhere you look, there are people urging you not to look away. they say, "Open your eyes to my particular message." don't stray from the light. my light only. nothing /matters/ more than what i have to say.
i say give in to your own flavor of yearning. YOU matter more than they are allowed to prescribe. not an individualistic call to action, it's a collective good.
I'm often asked how to find work in crypto. Not sure why since I don't have a full-time job in the space, but I do somehow make things work. I've failed at nearly all of these at some point. You learn from these mistakes and correct them.
Marketing yourself does nothing if the below are broken.
Reasons you might be treading water: ‣ Not networking enough ‣ Underutilization of people who actually like you ‣ Clear lack of experience ‣ Creating a niche for yourself without putting in the work ‣ Not showing your work through content ‣ Not building case studies for yourself ‣ Sitting on the sidelines - benching yourself will obv hurt ‣ Too little focus on building a single skill ‣ Stretching yourself too thin between many fragmented skills ‣ Misunderstanding how the space (and its people) works ‣ Not enough shots on goal ‣ You overbooked yourself and people can see it
More 🌶️ reasons: ‣ Not going to enough IRL events ‣ Not a member of the right (for you) communities ‣ You chose the wrong focus ‣ Scarcity mindset/limiting beliefs
🌧️ it's raining again this Sunday. at least the weather here is consistent.
binaural beats have helped with focus a lot this week. if you're also battling a very frustrating period of decrease in focus try them out and stop the doomscrolling!
clarification: this morning's message is a commentary on how lonely and cold the blockchain is and the real, deep need for third spaces to linger within.

Morning Message #15
things are really starting to pick up again.
it's nice to see, though already a bit overwhelming trying to keep up with it all.
the explorer allows for detachment in letting the path reveal itself naturally.
there is no pressure to keep up. stick to the mission. stick to one skill, one big goal.
keep going even in the face of unending distraction.
staring out the window a bit ago reflecting on the month so far. reflecting on the matter of mattering. what it means to truly feel valued, to feel like you've done something significant.
not sure where it'll go, but looking forward to exploring this. seems so trivial considering all the people throughout time who've also had these ponderings. nevertheless, i think we all have something unique to add to the conversation.
on points: these engagement systems are not inherently bad or wrong to implement and I encourage them. however, the culture that crypto has enabled and normalized has birthed this migration. it's important to be cautious of the mental, physical, and social health, even the curious health of those impacted by this surge.
is this helping or hurting the community intended to care for? is this nurturing growth or wearing us all down?
exhausting the people who care about your mission is never a wise decision.
the best community tool is your heart. the best engagement mechanism is your own sense of care.
yes, we can use tech, automation, and memetic branding but with time, a person who moves through the world with love builds a community of meaning far greater.
growth and pressure dilute this meaning if either of these is absent. slow and careful is always wise.
never underestimate the impact you leave on someone. if you remain steadfast in your values, you'll find those who remember even the smallest, most trivial acts and may even mention them years later. it's not surprising when you look back just how much of a mark you leave.
do good. no matter the consequence to your short-term social capital.
in this case, care becomes an act of resilience, an act of truth, and a path to your innermost self.
the dreams we have when awake help nurture and care for the unconscious mind when asleep
its friday and all i want is for the world to be quiet for a day. to sit in silence, retreat inside my creative mind to tug on the feelings of the week.
have you experienced sleep that transports the mind to another dimension? what did you find there?
the liminal state between awakeness and total annihilation of the conscious living brain has felt almost like a type of death lately, and I've been trying so hard to let go of this fear.
this year has been a long trod through the bowels of philosophy and ancient esoteric teachings. a deeply inspirational journey into identity, self, and consciousness.
since diving into digital identity and how online or onchain communities navigate oneness, this was a critical reflection period revealing how I specifically show up in spaces.
my hope is that those reading gain some insight into this intersection and a better understanding of their own place in the universe. 💖
annoushka.eth says: "I’ve been reading all your notes and found them beautiful but wasn’t sure if it’s okay to mint since they feel so personal. But just so you know you’re not only talking to yourself ;)"
response: yes, of course, please feel welcome to mint these and comment. though morning messages may often be personal, they are meant to be shared, so let's talk about that today.
------- I operate on the fundamental desire to share in service to and with others. For me, there is no greater purpose than to share my own curiosity with 2 or more people. It's my love language.
My hope is that I encourage others to share with me.
I yearn for stories, wisdom, for rituals that bring us closer together through the implementation of new technologies.
My goal is to awaken new knowledge within us all. Through written, spoken, and artistic words and, ultimately, interconnectedness.
monday seems to be full of so much energy, but this is due to the workweek and a business-minded society.
rather, if we inch closer to post-scarcity, more cultural-driven closeness with one another, we see the sun holds much more power over our energies.
we are alive with love for one another no matter the day of the week.
sunday has been a consistently rainy day for me throughout my life. I think that's beautiful. washing away the crud of the week to clear the way for new beginnings. when the rain subsides, the sun shines through with everlasting light as it always does.
I’ve been reading all your notes and found them beautiful but wasn’t sure if it’s okay to mint since they feel so personal. But just so you know you’re not only talking to yourself ;)

🔥 the internet is often a type of hell we all wade through with flames burning at our fingertips. once in a while, we find brief respite among rare friendships like a shimmering mirage.
💖 the real privilege in life is acting with unbridled authenticity. unencumbered by expectations and the monotony of the everyday.
there is much to be learned from every waking moment. the profound curiosity within us all is insatiable but far too many willingly choose to ignore it. the one thing that has frustrated me the most this year has been witnessing sheer ignorance in light of this fact. we would all be nothing without curiosity, and too many have lost their humanity among the burning desires of capital- social, financial, emotional, or otherwise.
i have been dreaming of curiosity capital in exchange for these extractive measures of the modern internet. where wisdom, care, and understanding are deemed more worthy.

I've been thinking about love this week. Maybe you have, too. Do we show ourselves the love we deserve, the love we show for others? How does love feel? Is it warm? What is a hug? Does an embrace feel like a ball of light? What color is your love? What does it sound like?
Self-awareness is love. Patience is love. Knowing we are all loved is quite comforting.

A Trip Down Farcaster Lane
rolled down the window and
endless streams of molten treetops
your hand in mine, the world a canvas
painted in amber and gold, fleeting warmth
as a lone, crunchy leaf danced in,
interrupting our silence—
a fragile intruder from an autumn long past
the chill of the coming winter whispered
of times gone by and the silence between us
that spoke louder than words ever could.
