Binary Emotions is a digital art collection in p5.js that transforms binary code — the fundamental language of computers — into vehicles of emotion and reflection. Here, binary code, a mathematical reduction of words and meanings, transcends its original function, revealing that the essence of any text can be converted into visual and poetic art.

Each piece is an interaction between two levels of abstraction: code creating life (p5.js) and code representing essence (binary). It is the meeting of the human and the machine, where the digital becomes sensitive. The words, translated into 0s and 1s, carry the emotion of the original text, showing that even the most technical language can convey profound feelings.

The use of p5.js to add movement, glow, and glitch to the poems is a metaphor for the hidden vitality within data. The binary words gain a physical presence, flowing in a visual rhythm that reflects the emotional impact of the text, while the black background and green glow evoke the mysterious atmosphere of computer terminals.

This collection invites us to see beyond the numbers and recognize that emotion can inhabit even the most technical realm: a sequence of 0s and 1s. Here, binary code is not just information but an expression of life, a poetry of data.

My thoughts wander through the void as I observe the world around me

AI excites us because it presents an immense, almost immeasurable range of discoveries for new creative processes. One of them, which we have fallen in love with, is the creation of pieces based on photographs taken by us.

In the case of this piece, the photograph was taken today, a few hours before we made the video available for mint. The color grading was done in Lightroom and then we ran it through Gen2 with text prompts about the movement we imagined for the photo.
