4 World-renowned artists were invited to create art alongside NASA commercial astronauts during a microgravity flight. I was selected as one of the artists. This is my journey. 👨🏽‍🚀🚀📸

Just 2 weeks before being invited, I had unexpectedly lost my job at Quantum NFT Art Gallery. That crushed me. I had poured so much of myself into helping launch that gallery and building the community. Silently fighting through panic attacks to show up and host events. And to have snatched away…bruh. I was hurt.

My Faith is strong, I believe when one door closes, another one opens. It was a great honor to have been invited to participate in this experience! One of the best times of my life.

Myself, Gabe Weis, Dr. Sian Proctor, and Rob Prior were invited, alongside NASA astronauts, on this Zero Gravity flight to experiment with making art while weightless. The Uplift Aerospace team flew me out to Cape Canaveral, FL where I met the crew and other artists.

As the only photographer, I felt great pride in documenting this experience. I had to fight through motion sickness but ended up getting some incredible photos that myself and the team were happy with. Knowing the work was being auctioned for Astro Access was also motivating. 4 pieces sold during Art Basel Miami 2022 with 100% of the proceeds being donated!

Nothing is random and everything is happening FOR YOU. I am grateful for my journey and all that comes with it. I’m grateful for healing and resiliently pushing forward, continuing to create!

Today, I want to talk about Why I started the 50MM Collective. When I first got started in NFTs in 2021, I noticed a lot of talk about finding and being part of great communities. But as someone who is mixed-race and transgender, I struggled to find a community where I truly felt represented.
Growing up in Holland, Michigan, a predominantly white area, I often felt like the only person who looked like me. This feeling continued even when I joined different online communities. It's an isolating experience not to feel seen, heard, or understood. And when you internalize these feelings, it gives power to your inner critic – that little voice telling you that you're not good enough and that what you're doing doesn't matter.

That's why I created the 50MM Collective. This collective is about creating art and NFTs and building a space where everyone can feel like they belong. Our goal is to empower and uplift underrepresented voices in the NFT community. We believe that everyone deserves to be seen, heard, and celebrated for their unique experiences and perspectives.

That's why I started the Fiddy Fam Friday series on my Twitter! (also live-streamed to YouTube & Kick) It's a way for us to showcase the incredible talent and stories of our community members. It's about creating a platform to amplify each other's voices and break down the barriers that have held us back for too long.

Currently, I am back home in Michigan, no longer engaged, and still recovering from breaking my hand and wrist this year. An injury that left me questioning my purpose, identity, and career path. This was my rock bottom but I refused to give up.

I have spent the past few months working on myself and getting aligned with my calling.
