No town that can house me
No house that can hold me
No care to live by the sea
For fear that waves would swallow me
This city says too much
Can't hear the wind speak
I lie down for silence
Thoughts trample over me
The farm carries whispers
The forest houses ghouls
The desert makes me lonely
The suburbs filled of fools
I thought I belonged in a field
But I just ran and ran
I sometimes think space is the answer
Yet I try and barely understand
Now if I could float up
And suspend myself in time
I’d understand the house I so longed for
Was not so far behind
It was right under my nose
Looming up and over my feet
If I just paid a bit more attention
I’d notice the house I built was me
No house that can hold me
No care to live by the sea
For fear that waves would swallow me
This city says too much
Can't hear the wind speak
I lie down for silence
Thoughts trample over me
The farm carries whispers
The forest houses ghouls
The desert makes me lonely
The suburbs filled of fools
I thought I belonged in a field
But I just ran and ran
I sometimes think space is the answer
Yet I try and barely understand
Now if I could float up
And suspend myself in time
I’d understand the house I so longed for
Was not so far behind
It was right under my nose
Looming up and over my feet
If I just paid a bit more attention
I’d notice the house I built was me
