I used to only read nonfiction. The famous religious texts. The ancient philosophies. Historical accounts of battles and infamous figures. Strategy, chess books, and the rest.

Now I read a lot of fiction. Scifi, mystery, adventure. It's uncanny. In both instances I felt that "well I already am quite familiar with [insert opposite]."

That pendulum keeps on swinging.
