Neil Young’s “Old Black” Replica.. nothing will ever beat an original, but as Neil clings to his Old Black collectors and fans fondly hold on to their replicas..
Young traded a Gretsch 6120 Chet Atkins with his Buffalo Springfield bandmate, Jim Messina for the already painted “Old Black”, 1953 Gibson Goldtop, in the late 60’s. Later Neil changed many of the original features, which has contributed to Young’s unique sound.
