Poem #4

I crave to show myself,
Just as I am.
To be accepted,
To be shown love,
Or at least dignity.
Because I have yet to learn
To show it to myself.
I fail to control this impulse,
And in an attempt
To be intimate,
I achieve the opposite.
I push with such force,
That I find myself
Alone again.
But hopeful still,
That someday,
I’ll find someone
Craving to be seen,
Just like me,
To be loved,
Despite the intensity.
Because Im tired of denying
This part of me
And I will no longer hide it
Whatever the result may be
And if I’m lucky
I might just end up
Loving me.

Poem #10

It starts small—
Barely a thought,
Like a spark,
Sufficient to ignite
My body,
A forest.
It spreads
Like wildfire;
Soon, paradise
Turns to hell.
No end in sight.
Fret not—
This too shall pass,
Be it through rain
To drown the flames,
Or new growth
In scorched ground.

I love the kindness in your eyes
And the warmth of your touch.
I love your gentle demeanour
And your presence so calm.
I love it when you shed tears
And show me your pain.
I love to see you struggle
And understand what you are yet to gain.
I love to see you lost
Knowing you are bound to find your way.
I love all the mistakes that led you to me
And the fact that you exist.
