Continuing my artist journey in chronological order more or less, this is a voice memo from a full moon drum circle on the beach in Miami, October 2017. • I was just starting to discover my creativity & my vocal capabilities. I finally allowed myself to flow & create in the moment & this is what came through. • Feel free to close your eyes & float away, as this song will take you on an exotic flight through space & time. • The cover photo was taken at Burning Man in September 2018, which has been a huge inspiration for my music & sound.
The first song in this artifact came to me in a dream. In 2019, I was falling asleep one night & while I was in that in-between dream state, the melody & lyrics of this song came to me in my Native language, Russian. I believe that my ancestors whispered it in my ear. It’s about my journey to self love. I finally found a deep self love in 2017-2018 & my whole life changed after that. • The second song in this artifact came to me in a ceremony. In 2017, the most challenging year of my life, I finally faced & broke through a lot of my traumas & limiting beliefs, and found my voice again! This was the first time that I ever channeled a song. It felt like it came from my ancient soul. It was a remembering. • It’s a prayer of gratitude to the sky, God & the universe, all the light beings, star beings & angels for guiding us & protecting us. As well as gratitude to our Mother Earth, the land & this beautiful planet that we’re on for holding us so lovingly. Filmed a year ago on my birthday, September 13th 2022, at our home in Miami.
In 2017, shortly after I moved from DC to Miami, I had a powerful awakening & transformation. I was doing a lot of inner work after a bad breakup, going to meditations, sound healings, ceremonies, etc. I decided to dive in & peel back all of the layers of myself. I uncovered some childhood traumas & a lot of limiting beliefs that I started healing & breaking through. “I’m not creative” was one of them! • “𝐈’𝐦 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞,” I thought. This is what I told myself my whole life, holding myself back. Holding myself small. Ever since I overheard a teacher say it to my Mom when I was a little girl in school. “She’s not creative,” she said, “She’s more analytical…” • So my whole life, I was singing other people’s songs, because I thought I couldn’t create my own. Until my spiritual awakening & transformation in 2017, when this exact memory surfaced in a meditation & I realized that 𝐈 𝐚𝐦 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞! We are all creative & we are here on this planet to create!!! From that moment on, my whole life changed! I started creating my own melodies, singing my own songs & even designing my own jewelry, calling my brand "Moon Bird." • Where are YOU holding yourself back or holding yourself small? YOU have the power to transform your own narrative. 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐀𝐑𝐄 𝐀𝐋𝐋 𝐂𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐎𝐑𝐒. I hope this can inspire & empower you to create something beautiful. • The first video is from my childhood in Russia, singing the first song that I ever wrote, about my Mother. She came to America to make a better life for us & left me with my Grandparents for about 2 years while she got situated in NYC. You can see the pain in my eyes—How much I missed her & longed for her. I was singing about how beautiful she is & how much I love her. • The second video is from our KarmaVioletta performance at the Underground Violet Rave at Art Basel last week! It’s a song that I wrote for Karma, my fiance & my greatest love. It’s unreleased, for now ;)
This is the beginning of my artist journey & where I come from. I have been singing, dancing and performing for as long as I can remember, since I was a little girl. I've always had a deep connection to nature, the great outdoors, the moon and water, especially waves. I draw a lot of inspiration from those elements & infuse them into my music.
I love the postcard feel! It looks like you handmade a collage :) Also I didn't know you were born in Germany! Looking forward to learning more about you 🤓💚
