In the hauntingly beautiful realm of 'Gloom,' shadows dance with melancholy as whispers of dusk linger in the air. Within the depths of darkness, there exists a poignant allure—a reminder of the shared human experience of navigating through life's uncertainties. Through the lens of 'Gloom,' we find solace in the recognition that even in the darkest moments, there is a glimmer of resilience, a beacon of hope waiting to illuminate our path forward.

Adaeze Okaro is a self-taught photographer. She centers her work around portraiture, fine art, documentary imagery, and fashion photography.
She has been taking photos since March, 2017. She began taking fashion portraits with her iPhone 5s at the time. In September of 2018, she started taking photos professionally.
That same year of November, she got commissioned for her first project for Dove & Getty Images.

Her work features black women and men in colorful, lucid portraits that are deeply infused with cultural traces of her origin. Her imagery is inspired by most especially love, melancholy & black beauty.
In March 2021, Adaeze was selected for the Adobe Stock Artist Development Fund, which offers its eight recipients a list of creative briefs to select from and work toward. One of the optional briefs that Adaeze picked was Celebration of Self – a befitting choice given her mission to capture the beauty in everyone she photographs.
With her work for companies like Dove, Getty Images, Girlgaze, VSCO, Google, Google Pixel, Adobe, HarperCollins UK, Adobe Stock, Adobe Lightroom and more, Obiageli’s work continues to showcase the beauty of black women while aiming to dismantle barriers and stereotypes surrounding black women, one photograph at a time.
