Tower Bridge, built in Victorian Gothic style and opened in 1894, combines both suspension and bascule designs. Its two massive towers are an integral part of London’s skyline. The bridge is unique because its central span can be raised to allow large ships to pass through. Tower Bridge is also one of the city's major tourist attractions.
