In 1054 CE, Chinese astronomers recorded a ‘Guest Star’ in the sky that was visible for several weeks. Nearly a thousand years later, in the same spot, we find the Crab Nebula. This is a supernova remnant, A city-sized magnetized neutron star spinning around 30 times a second.
