About Emre Çakmak: Emre Çakmak is an award-winning photographer from Turkey. In his pursuit of magical moments in daily life, he’s been taking Street Photography and Documentary Photograps since 2019 and describes himself as an intuitive photographer of instant compositions.
Inspired by both of daily life and surrealism movement, he uses various photography techniques for overlaying his imagination onto the mundane and bringing surreal views to the frame and turning photography into a way of expressing his feelings and thoughts.
His photozine, Labyrinth, was published by Bump Books and some of his works have also been published in international magazines and exhibited globally. He is one of the winners of Italian Street Photography Festival 2021 and The Ian Parry Scholarship 2021. He achieved the Special Jury Award in international Istanbul Street Photography Festival in 2020. Some of his photos have been selected and shortlisted in international festivals and contests such as Lens Culture, Sony World Photo Awards, The Independent Photographer, Leica Street Photo Awards among others. He was also one of the juries of Istanbul Street Photography Festival held in 2021. As a young photographer with great curiosity and passion, he loves telling visual stories with his own unique flair.
