The MANANANGGAL is a vampiric creature, usually female, of Philippine myth. It has the bizarre ability to split its body into two and fly around with just its upper half, its entrails dangling about. It preys on couples and pregnant women, sucking out their blood with a mosquito-like proboscis. It shares all of the usual weaknesses of a vampire, but also dislikes spices and garlic.

The Shug Monkey is a creature that haunts the streets of Cambridgeshire, England. It has the body of a jet-black shaggy sheepdog and the face of a monkey with staring; luminous eyes. Sometimes it shuffles along on its hind legs and at other times it runs on all fours. For reasons known only to it, it is said to haunt an overgrown and little-used lane called Slough Hill in the parish of West Wratting – although it reportedly has not been sighted anywhere at all since the end of World War 2.

The Mapinguari dwells deep in the Amazon rainforest, and is thought to be a human shaman who has undergone a terrible transformation. It has a single eye and a gaping mouth on its stomach, which emits a terrifying shriek. It also has backwards feet to confuse trackers and lead them astray in the thick jungle.

At the tail end of the dark age of the Kali Yuga, even the Buddha, 9th incarnation of Vishnu, became despondent. He forgot of the gods and the truth at the base of the universe and so the universe delivered a reminder in the form of the RAINBOW FISH. This leviathan swallowed the Buddha and took him down to the ocean depths. The brilliant scales of the monster, shimmering in all the colours of creation, reminded Vishnu of what he had lost.

Hakutaku is a mythical white bovine with many watchful eyes along its flanks and back. It enjoys eating the bad dreams of sleeping humans, and can be encouraged into properties by leaving windows open and hanging up a picture of a beautiful white cow. Hakutaku takes this as a form of encouragement and will drift in through open windows at night to eat up nightmares.

Despite its enormous talons and sharp beak, it appears as a guardian and protector to pregnant women. The Australian Drop Bear is a terrifying and elusive creature native to the eucalypt forests of Australia. These fierce predators earned their name due to their habit of dropping from the branches onto unsuspecting prey passing beneath them. With their powerful arms and razer sharp claws, they often half strangle their victims to immoboilise them before delivering a fatal bite.

This lost beast has only been found by the most dogged of hunters in the most remote twists of the Congo River. Its horned head is atop a huge, muscular body. Docile when threatened, few have survived after rousing its fury.
