Did you know you can fly over LAX at relatively low altitude? I didn’t. 3,500ft one way and 4,500 ft the other on a very specific path.

Today I had the privilege of flying near the Franklin Fire in Malibu, which is currently burning and is 0% contained. It was wild to see tankers and helicopters bravely flying straight into the smoke to help put the fire out, and fascinating to be able to hear the communications in real time between the pilots and Air Traffic Control. The biggest observation was how these pilots, who are flying under really hazardous conditions and risking their lives, sounded cool, calm, collected. I guess just another day on the job for them. I’m in awe. Hats off to the pilots.

Very thankful for the experience and really hope everyone is safe and out of danger.
