WiFi by P.S. Kaguya, a genesis track, dives deep into the complexities of love and fidelity through a modern lens. The title, WiFi, cleverly plays on the concept of "Wireless Fidelity." This duality encapsulates the struggle between the ideal of unwavering commitment and the reality of fleeting, inconsistent affection.
The song was born out of a personal experience where I dealt with a partner who professed love in their own detached manner, often disappearing without a trace. This emotional unavailability led to a realization of being undeserving of such treatment, despite the insecurities that kept us tethered to this toxic relationship. The track reflects on the euphoria of past moments shared, now with nostalgic moments and longing for what once was. The scent of the oil on their hair on the pillowcase becomes a symbol of lost intimacy, a ghost of a love that once felt real. As the song unfolds, it becomes a cathartic journey of self-awareness, recognizing the need to break free from an abusive cycle of unreciprocated feelings and the pursuit of genuine, mutual love.
