In late 2023, I was hit by two buses in Santiago, Chile, while riding my bicycle. One hit me, and the second passed dangerously close. I was incredibly lucky to escape without broken bones, but my left leg suffered nerve damage, leaving me bedridden for three months.

During that time, my mind was in turmoil—I feared I might never return to activities I loved, like dancing or hiking. However, this challenging period marked the true beginning of my journey as an artist. With my body still, my mind found freedom through painting. I channeled my frustration and pain into my art, discovering a new direction for my life.

The swords in this piece symbolize the mind, intellect, and ideas. So is ideal to finish it this round. The water represents my emotions, overwhelming me like a flood. Despite the chaos, my mind remained grounded, though the process was painful and transformative.

Today, I can walk and bike again, although my foot still aches at times. This work stands as a reflection of resilience and growth.
